OhioHealth Volunteer Programs

Requirements to volunteer with OhioHealth

(regardless of volunteer role) include:

  • All volunteers must be at least 16 years of age at the time of application. Please note, some volunteer roles require the volunteer to be at least 18 years old.
  • All volunteers must submit records to Associate Health for an Immunization Review documenting evidence of immunity to MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) and Varicella (Chickenpox). Titers Titer is a type of blood test that determines the presence and level (titer) of antibodies in the blood. may be provided in the absence of immunization documentation.
  • All volunteers are required to have an initial TB (Tuberculosis) screening at no cost to the volunteer.
  • All volunteers are required to have a yearly documented flu shot during flu season, between December 1 and March 31. Exemptions for religious or medical reasons are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. During flu season, the flu vaccine is available to current volunteers at no cost to the volunteer.
  • All volunteers must submit to a criminal background check or fingerprint screening, provided at no cost to the volunteer.
  • Although the COVID-19 vaccine is no longer required by the federal mandate, OhioHealth strongly recommends that all who are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine and boosters receive them.
